I’m brand new, and this is probably an easy fix, but I’m stuck.
I put an outside offset around the letters because without it I had a lot of chip out around the letters that went into the pocketed stripes. This did take care of that although the way I went about it took FOREVER; again I’m sure there’s a better way.
The problem now is if I do the V Carve using stock bottom there are 2 places that go way too deep, and if I put in a maximum depth of something else the letters are not carved wide enough.
I tried to put a texture around the stripes but in reality it looks too chippy. The texture tool path is very confusing to me. Please let me know a better way to put some texture around the stripes if possible.
Also any input on speeds and feeds is greatly appreciated as well as any other recommendations.
Thanks

If you need to limit the depth you should use an Advanced V carving.
I did do an advanced v carve first, but the cut didn’t go deep enough and the letters were too thin.
I’ve had a little trouble with that font in the past. Try reducing the size a little and spacing out characters a little, say 110%. Also, set your start depth in AVC to something like .020"
A simple vcarve goes down the center of a line and keeps going deeper and deeper until the bit touches on both sides of the line. For a fine line that is ok but for a wider line you can plunge right through thin material.
As @WillAdams suggested use Advanced Vcarve. The difference is adv vcarve goes around the perimeter of the line/lines to the specified depth. If there is a flat bottom area you can specify a flat end mill to give you a smooth flat bottom. On some projects even if you select a flat end mill if the space is too small for the bit to get into then the vee bit is used to mill out the area. With the advanced vcarve you can cut as deep as you want up to the limitation of the tool.
When you limit depth of a simple vcarve you get strange results. So try the advanced vcarve again and if the preview looks good then I would cut it again. If the preview does not look good then keep working on the file until the preview/simulation looks like you expected.
