Turn Off Bitrunner

Carbide Motion 659

I need to turn off Bitrunner with my VFD, but it appears I can not. I feel like I could freely check and uncheck this in a previous CM version.

Instructions would be appreciated.

Sees like when I ran into that I checked the VFD button and saved. Then unchecked the BitRunner and saved. Maybe there was a restart of the program between, can’t remember.

You could also edit your shapeoko.json file. Be sure to restart CM after the edit.

This I did not venture into due to ignorance of changing that file.

Here is what I did and it has worked.

Anyone having this issue here are the steps I took:

  1. Install all your equipment.
  2. Make any setting adjustments to your VFD.
  3. Run Carbide Motion and select “SET UP NEW MACHINE”.
  4. Go through the prompts. At the spindle selection, choose “ROUTER”. Unchecked “BITRUNNER”.
  5. Complete setup.
  6. Select “SET UP NEW MACHINE”.
  7. This time at spindle selection choose “VFD”. The checkbook for Bitrunner should be unchecked now.
  8. Save all settings and complete setup.
  9. Restart everything.

I would think that’s the preferred way to make a change. Glad you got it.
