Updated Motion is off

Hey there. I’ve been using the Shapeoko 4 for a few years. Recently got a new computer and when I renewed carbide create, it’s a lot different, and the carbide motion also has different features than on my other computer. I thought I had everything I needed figured out, but when I run things, the distances are longer than should be. If I set it to cut to .25" below zero, with zero being the top surface, it will cut .5" deep. If I tell it to go 1" above zero, it goes to about 2" above zero. It’s like the measurements are exaggerated. Anyone else experienced this?

Most likely the setup for the Z-axis in the motion controller is incorrect - ensure when going thru the setup wizard for Carbide Motion to your S4 that you select the correct machine & Z-axis type configuration to send to the motion controller. The different Z-axis have different steps per in/mm which would likely explain your issue.

Thank you so much. This worked. I have the z plus and I believe it was set for the hdz. I’m back in business. Thank you!
