Yesterday I used thread locker on my sweepy dust boot hoping it would solve the problem of the latch loosening and it destroyed the plastic on the latching mechanism. Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes, a couple of folks have done that.
If you’re still under warranty, let us know at support.
That said, w/ the lock washers threadlock should not be needed.
Unfortunately the machine is now 2 years old so out of warranty. I’ve found that the screws still loosen up even with the lock washers that is why I tried thread lock.
I use blue tape. I put it on and only replace it when I do maintenance or a cleaning. Been doing this for two years. I had the same issue you did. It has never loosened again.

Finger nail polish on the threads works well.

I had this issue myself and I located this fix using a printable lock. I used it and works great! Hope this helps.
