I am trying to create a sign with a fish V-Carved into it. I have tried both advanced v-carve and normal v-carve and I am just not getting what I expect from them. When I have used advanced in the past, I always got an outside line that matched up with the vector of what I am carving. However this time, it is not the case. The mouth and eye are hugely rounded and look like a weird cartoon and the thin part of the tail the V-bit is sinking all the way to the max depth causing a vertical carve straight down at the top, instead of only going partway to the max depth. Any ideas to what I am doing wrong? Also, it seems my simulation is extremely poor quality to what I see on others here, is that a benefit of upgrading carbide create pro?
Thank you both for the quick response. Changed the max depth to 0.25 and it accomplished exactly what I wanted(combined with the prior run at max depth of 0.5!). I guess it was just my lack of understanding of the Advanced v-carve function…Now to try and figure out how to get the higher resolution simulation back. I am not seeing an option to change to high resolution on the job setup menu, only in the “View” menu at the top and it appears to do nothing.
