Thank you, Will. There is an action item for this weekend (after taxes are done). Truthfully, so far I’ve just been using Atom for the constraint-based 2D sketching (which I then export as DXF), and its ability to open native SolidWorks files as inert solids (better than nothing with old SW files…)

I have actually done some 3D modeling with Atom and it is pretty capable, but a major impediment for me is its totally different UI than the SolidWorks I use on a daily basis at work–a two-way culture shock…

Ah, I see now. The Alibre home page says

so it is still a pending release. It looks like a big UI improvement, though!

Apparently this will be announced as an open beta in the near future:

We will probably post it here Friday 3/27 and then globally announce it Monday. So you get some early access by being on the forum <3

Thanks, @WillAdams . I will watch it after the Artemis 2 launch this evening (firewall here at work blocks it).

As of last night the V29 beta was out for the Alibre versions other than Atom3D. Hopefully that will be coming along later (maybe that subject is in the discussion?)

Unfortunately Atom3D (Workshop) is still at 28.1 as of tonight…

My understanding is that there won’t be a beta of the entry-level Atom3D.

Trying to find time to sit at my desk w/ docking station and external keyboard/mouse so that I can work through the tutorials with the new version…
