Values for XY travel in older Carbide Motion for 3xxl

Hi, Had to reload my software after blue screen of death on my laptop. May it rest in peace. I downloaded the older version of CarbideMotion for my 3xxl machine. Looking for the XY travel values to enter in the Settings screen. The default starting values were 420.000, but the xxl is larger.

Thank you! I’ve had mine since 2017 and it’s been a great machine! Unfortunately, I didn’t do the proper backups on the laptop. I was running it from.

Here is your chance to fix the backup problem. With a new machine get some backup software. I use Norton and it backs up to the cloud. They include 200gb free and make you pay if you need more. I am currently at 186gb and get warning messages I am almost full. I additionally back to two usb attached drives. I want my data saved. There are other backup brands besides Norton but it also provides antivirus protection as well as monitoring for bad websites you might click on. The Norton also has some basic protection against identity theft but they are always trying to upsell you. With a new machine get your backups going by purchasing software to help. I have files over 20 years old that I keep backing up and if I get a new machine I restore them to my new machine.

In today’s internet environment you better be using some antivirus software. So suggest you get that with the other things like back all in one product.

Good Luck

Older versions of CM reduced your total capacity to compensate for the Suckit dust boot. 4-5 years ago that was the dominant dust boot on Shapeoko. The Suckit dust boot has some arms on each side of your Z that could crash into the Y rails. So C3D reduced the setup of your machine to compensate for those arms. Not sure if they are still compensating for those arms in the most recent versions but you can manually change the limits of your Shapeoko by directly editing your configuration. There are posts here on the forum about how to do that.
