Definitely a newbie question… but I got my 60 and 90 degree Vee bits today and I noticed they have a coating over the bit.
Do I just need to manually peel this off before using? I would think I wouldn’t want it on there when using.
thanks

Yes, it’s a blob of glue/gel to protect the cutting edges, gently cut it near the shaft and peel it off
As @Julien mentioned sometimes it is wax and sometimes a soft plastic. Just peel it off just make sure you dont cut yourself on the cutting edges of the bit. Start peeling up on the shank of the bit.
thank you very much. My guess was this was the case but I’m brand new to this kind of thing I didn’t wanna take a chance ruining it
