VFD connector not ’male?

Is it me or is the other end of this connector from the VFD to the controller supposed to be male (see pics)? Both seem female.

It seems in other Spindle Shapeoko videos maybe there was a direct to circuit board connect but in opening up controller i thought best not to proceed in opening silver case(pic).

I was soooclose to starting this bad boy up -:frowning:
Please advise.

There’s a pigtail connector to make up this connection which should have been included with your machine.
