VFD delayed in starting

SO 3XXL w/220V er20 VFD

Previously:
-CM would ask for Load Tool
-Then proceeded to bitsetter to measure
-returned to Tool Load position, paused and started spindle
-moved to orgin to start project

Recently:
-CM asks for Load Tool
-Then proceeds to bitsetter to measure
-returns to Tool Load position, pauses
-moves to orgin to start project
-plunges in workpiece while starting spindle

This causes many obvious issues including lost steps. I can not figure out what has changed. I have the latest build of CM. My gcode is created by latest Pro version of CC.

Any ideas? The gcode looks good when reviewing with a spindle start prior to origin move. I have never changed anything on the VFD since initial set-up etc.

Do you have the spindle option selected in CM? Are you using the Shapeoko post processor in CC?

Do you use laser mode?

Yes, VFD spindle engaged in CM. Under CC/edit/Select post processor/Carbide 3D Shapeoko… is selected.

Yes. Jtech 14w pro in Lightburn. Macros created to switch between Laser/CNC. Does not seem to matter in LB when I switch back to CNC settings so I always close LB. RESET and Initialize under CM, Settings/Machine/Send Config Data. Close out/Restart CM. CM initializes w/ bit setter just fine etc. except spindle does not start until origin plunge etc. Thought it was initially a MeshCam gremlin when running gcode from MC, but happens in CC, also.

Seems like older version of software, when saving gcode, it gave you a drop down option to choose Shapeoko etc. now I guess it is a selection under Edit. Although, Shapeoko is still selected in my case etc under Edit/Select Post Processor/Carbide 3D Shapeoko.

You got me thinking now it may be a GRBL ghost, as laser does not start until at origin(like my spindle is doing) I assumed me resetting the most recent CarbideMotion/Settings/Machine/Reconfigure Data would take precedent over any lingering Lightburn GRBL settings etc.??? This is getting above my pay grade, lol.

I try to remember to hit my CNC Button(macros) when closing Lightburn. But I have little understanding of how GRBL settings are saved across software etc.

I’ve been running my laser for 2 years and my SO3XXL for 3, this is a recent issue.

What’s your $32 Grbl setting?
Those settings are stored on the controller and will persist across programs abd power cycles.
