I have set up an enclosure for my CNC, and now would like to add a camera to record while it is running, and also to be able to watch it on my phone while it is running. The last topic I saw on this was from Jan 2018. I was hoping to get some ideas with newer tech. I’m not trying to break the bank on buying a camera and hoping that there are some cost-efficient video cameras out there. Any help would be appreciated. If you could give me the name and where you purchased it, and an approximate cost, that would be helpful as well.
It has pan, tilt, zoom capability and you can record video on a micro SD card if you want. They try to push paid cloud plan on you but you can run without it. It has both web and mobile clients to monitor your CNC machine.
If you are “techie” and like to tinker, there is motioneyeos that runs on Raspberry Pi.
I have a Pi with three USB cams watching my machine- one from each side of the X axis, and one from overhead. I can watch the feed on any device I allow to connect to my network. No cloud, no app- just any web browser pointed at the Pi.
It does take some fiddling to get the initial setup though.
