Vise recommendations for Shapeoko Pro5

I am looking for suggestions for a low profile vise that will use the Pro 5 tslots.
I am not sure if a fixture plate would be required for any vise I could use.

Educate me please

How low profile do you need it to be?

And most vises aren’t going to have holes that specifically are meant for the Hybrid Table. But the Hybrid table is meant to be flexible. You can always figure out a way to make it work.

I’ve used vises from Little Machine Shop and really liked them, but most “serious” vises will eat into the vertical clearance under the gantry a fair bit.

Here’s what a 3" vise looked like on the Shapeoko 5 Pro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJKTfciJ8YU

This might apply to you. If you use a vice it’s going to reduce your gantry clearance. PwnCnc offers 1" riser blocks for the Gantry. fyi. They’re onsite right now.

I do have the Risers which help a lot.

Vise video - You gotta love the dramatic sound track, only a bit over the top !
What clamps did you use to hold the vise to the table ?

You know I am not sure what I want, it would be for thicker material when taking the top off.
Sometimes I get nervous if the base if smaller.

I think I will just try one of the cheap HF units I have and see what I don’t like.

One vise that I’ve looked at far too many times but never pulled the trigger on is: https://store.langmuirsystems.com/products/mr-1-low-profile-modular-vise

I purchased the Genmitsu small vises and have been happy with them at the price point they have. That Langmuir looks like a sweet vise.
