Wanted: Used Shapeoco Pro XXL (33"X33")

I am looking for a Used Shapeoco Pro XXL (33"X33"). I am located in Rochester NY. I do not have a whole lot of skills to assemble the machine. Can I get a machine in a good assembled and working condition?

@Sankarad

The answer is yes, with conditions.

  1. Someone has to be selling one
  2. The seller has not already disassembled (fully or partially)

However, it’s not that hard to reassemble a machine and the benefit of assembling it yourself is learning the machine. I believe there are setup manuals listed on C3D’s site for the machine you are looking at. Not to mention the folks on this forum that own the exact model and would be helpful to get it assembled.

Speaking from the experience of a novice CNC user at the hobby level I respectivefully suggest -
If you purchase a Shapeoko CNC you automatically become:

  1. A programmer responsible for learning a CAM program used for creating at a minimum tool paths (and possibly original designs)

  2. An operator responsible for using a CAD program that controls the machine
An operator responsible for positioning and securing workpieces on the machine
An operator responsible for troubleshooting issues that arise from improper (hardware or software) usage of the machine

  3. A service technician to maintain the machine

Looking for a machine that is ready to use reduces the chances of successfully becoming all three of these.

@sankarad I have one that I’m about to put up for sale as I am planning my upgrade to the pro 5+.

Contact me. I have:

  • XXL with HDZ
  • ER-11 Router - lightly used. Extra brushes as well
  • Bitsetter
  • Bitzero (v1)
  • Sweepy 2.0
  • Hard-wired Feed Hold button
  • Panic stop paddle
  • Router switch (Kreg)
  • I also have the Suckit fixed mount - but it’s not attached at this point. I’ve been using the sweepy. The sweepy bristles are worn, but I do have a fresh set of them, unused
  • A second Carbide Router (non-ER) with the lock button removed. The router works fine and you can change the bits with wrenches, you just don’t have the lock button anymore.
  • If someone wants to pick it up, they can also have my home-built 2x6 bench with the feed hold, panic, router switch mounted at no extra charge. It has a 2 drawer cabinet on it as well

I MIGHT be tempted to part with my 7w J-Tech laser and mount, as well…but that would up the price by probably about $350 (I paid $700, but I think you can buy it new now for $400). The advantage is that it’s already set up and connected to the XXL – and works really well.

Asking $1500
