Hey good people, Ive been busy at work lately, but I have a weird issue. I copied a file, and when I opened it on another machine, ALL of the layers are now one. It still has ther others, but somehow they all migrated to the text layer, and I cannot figure out how to undo it. Any Ideas? Thanks in Advance

Could it be that everything was grouped and then ungrouped?

Regrouping won’t help.
Unfortunately, Carbide Create lacks a checkbox for, “Remember layers” for objects to that they will go back to their original layer when ungrouped, so once things are moved to a layer by grouping it will be necessary to manually re-assign the layer to restore the previous organization (or go back to a saved backup copy).

Is this a sufficiently complex coding issue that it is unlikely to be addressed?
It is one of my top black marks against CC.
Many of the jobs I do have sub-assemblies with layered parts, and moving and rotating sub-assemblies within a larger job can be an outright gamble if you don’t group them first.
Having to ungroup to make updates, and losing the layers, is frustrating, and having to go back to backup copies is an unfortunate tradeoff for lack of a checkbox.
There is also a support aspect to this — the majority of folks using Carbide Create need simple and straight-forward and consistent.
