Yes, I have read that manual 3-4 times. The wires are not labeled per the diagram.
I have taken the time to number every one and shared here to make it easy for you to offer customer support. Consider this checking in.
Would you mind take a few minutes to look at my question above, the numbers on each wire and provide some guidance here? I believe it would useful for the community see this and reduce personal support emails.
The manual explains what each connection is by describing the number of connectors/wires in each connection.
At each area of the machine where things can connect it should only be possible to connect in the correct way — if that’s not the case for your machine, contact support — if it is, plug things in thus.
It seems you haven’t read my question…or maybe you don’t have time? Your responses are coming across in a way that makes me feel like I’m just bothering you.
I’ve taken the time to read the manual multiple times and then diagramed above for you to easily answer my question. I am asking about the routing of wires, not connecting them. To clarify, which wires (numbered above) go into the Right Wirekeeper?
Would you mind taking just a moment to help, rather than say “the manual explains this…”
As I have explained, if you are not finding that the instructions match the state of your machine, the solution here is to contact the folks at support@carbide3d.com who will be able to assist you. If the instructions match your machine state, then follow them.
I am not going to tell you to connect something which is wrong/doesn’t fit/damages a connector — this is why we have instructions and a support team who are familiar with various specific machines, and how to best handle difficulties.
Hi Will, Since you are the support team, can you explain the benefits of writing you an email, versus writing the questions here, where others can benefit from the solution?
My email would have the same question above (with the diagram I created to make it easy), which is asking - which wires go into the cable guide?
If you do not wish to help without shamming, is there anyone else on the support team we could speak with?
The benefit of a private, direct e-mail is that it directly applies to a given user’s situation and is guaranteed to be correct for a given user and the company will take responsibility and liability for it, since the tech support person is speaking from a position of authority (ex cathedra for my fellow Catholics).
A random statement on a forum post runs the risk of being taken out-of-context and applied to a different situation causing damage and breakage and hard feelings.
Hi Saki,
I’m far from an expert, but with the instruction manual and the referenced online videos, I was able to put my S5Pro 4x4 together in ~3 hours. If you look at it logically, all those wires you have laid out in the photo have end connections that will only fit one way. Check those connections against the ones on the stepper motors and plug them in. Then you will see which wires go in the stick on channel and which ones go through the chain links. Really the toughest part for me was opening the chain links with my chubby fingers. I also had to add the extra links supplied.
Good Luck!
Thanks Ed, and yes, as they are only able to connect in one way, I can manage that. They would still be a bit of a nest - what I’m asking is which wires go in the wire-keeper and which wires go in the cable guide.
I think I’ve exhausted my efforts in this thread - I just can’t seem to get help with which wires go in the cable guide.
and I have explained — the ones which match the description in the instructions and are plugged in as directed in them — if they don’t match the descriptions, then contact support.
Yes, that is why I’ve been suggesting you write in to support.
