My 4x4 5P is a launch unit with 194 hours and 23.4 km travel (on Y) on it.
The wires for my gantry lights are breaking inside of their jacket, in the tight drag chain loop up close where it attaches to the gantry. Anyone else having any issues?
I know it’s just the lights right now, but it now has me worried about the condition of the other wires in that location.
I have a video but can’t upload that. It’s right in the area that I’m pressing with my thumb.
Provided that the cables are not flexing much during gantry movements, the wires should not be prone to breaking if they are multi-stranded. I’m pretty sure sure the motor/sensor wiring harness conductors that came with the machine are multi-stranded.
If your LED lighting wiring is solid conductor, that is more likely to fracture with repeated flexing/bending. I have no clue if they would be different. It could also just be a bad batch of wiring used for the LED lighting.
I do know wiring issues were not uncommon on early 5pro models.
I know my early unit had z steeper connector issues that I had to replace wiring and the stepper motor over. It was a loose pinfit cause overheating terminals.
