Workbench Options?

Does this global industrial table seem like a good bench option? Sturdy enough? Really hard to tell if there are cheaper options that are viable.

I would be concerned getting this, personally.

It has a great weight-bearing capacity. I would be concerned about lateral movement as the machine is working. Maybe some cross-bracing might help. I did not see any support under the 3/4 " MDF top. Sagging will occur there.

Good luck

Go to Rockler.com or Kreg.com and look at their bench options. You can buy bench tops from a lot of places. Several of the SO5 4x4 owners bought the Rocker and/or Kreg stands and built up what they wanted and either made or bought a top. You can buy butcher block type tops or make one yourself.

The global one looks sturdy and is an all inclusive option but I think it is quite expensive for what you are getting.

I recently got the SO5 pro 4x4. I bought a couple of work tables from Sams Club (these: https://www.samsclub.com/p/ultrahd-72-inch-adjustable-height-heavy-duty-wood-top-workbench/prod22651720) The idea is that they will be temporary solutions for a couple years at which time I plan to move and will then build a custom table for the CNC and use the work tables as work tables. These work great for me right now as by using two of them they are spaced apart just enough to roll my Festool dust extractor and Mulet chip seperator right between them.

While this solution is working very well for now, I will say that equalizing the height and leveling the two tables to each other was very challenging and took a bit of time (a couple hours) to get it right.

Thank you! this is all really helpful. I considered the “two table” solution but the challenges of leveling seem quite real.

I think I’ll go the used industrial packing table route; big, heavy and with adjustable/leveling feet. FB marketplace FTW.
