I program the 3XL as usual but when it starts to cut the X axis is way too high.
ive reloaded but it does not help.
if anyone has a solution please reply.
Usually, this is a disconnect between:
Job Setup:
https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/create/job-setup/
and how you are setting zero relative to the stock
https://carbide3d.com/hub/courses/running-shapeoko/movements-zeroing/
The usual cause of this is setting the origin to Bottom of Stock, then zeroing relative to the top.
If that doesn’t work, please upload your .c2d file, step-by-step notes on how you are securing your stock and setting zero relative to it and managing all tool changes and a photo showing an attempt at cutting still in place on the machine with the machine at the zero position or a specified offset from that position and a screen grab showing Position and Machine Position (click to toggle between).
Thank you very much for that information. I will try it first thing tomorrow. I’ve kind of wondered if I did something wrong in the job set up in carbide motion so I’m gonna try what you said and hope for the best and I will let you know how it comes out. Thank you very much
Bob Anderson.
a silly question
when I set up the file I set the start depth and max depth. where do I set my object depth?
Object depth will be defined by the placement of the 3D model (if using Pro and the 3D features) or the toolpaths.
