Having issues with my X limit switch staying active even where there isn’t anything near it. I checked to make sure all the connections were secure as well as there weren’t any pinched wires. I also loosened the screws holding the limit switch in place to see if it was pinging on the rails or anything else and it still remained red. Also cleaned up the area in case there were any metal shavings or what not. Not sure what else there is to do. Any suggestions?
Did you try the old standard of complete power off, let power brick power light fade, then restart. Swap wires on the limit switch to see if the issue follows the wires.
Carbide support would be my next step
I did not do a full power cycle; I did turn off the red switch but I should completely unplug the machine? Also will try switching the wires as well. I did reach out to support but just wanted to see if the community had any suggestions as well.
I was offering that as a suggestion, cuz stuff happens with electronics and computer programs.
Edit
For sure! Appreciate the suggestion! I just went back to see if I could get it to work and somehow it had alleviated itself and the x limit switch was no longer staying active. Any reason why it would resolve itself? I was trying to fix it for 20 minutes or so earlier this evening and decided to wait for support. Glad its working now but not knowing what caused it and how it fixed itself is kind of odd.
No, Gremlins, Bad Fairy Dust. Sorry had to do that.
Maybe we will get a suggestion from someone on that.
Glad it is working.
Send a note to support, maybe they can drop you a note as to why it might happen.
The homing switches are not of the best quality. Take pictures, and reach out to customer service, IMO they need to be replaced (the switches, not the customer service people…without them we are screwed…)
