I just finished assembly. I was having an issue after homing - the RPS that send the x axis to the left side of the machine caused it to crash into the rail. That was with 850x850 as the dimensions in the CM settings but the issue stopped when I changed to 835x835 as the dimensions. Anyone else have this issue? Am I missing something?
My XXL upgrade did the same. I think I saw some place where Will listed it as 835. I was thinking over the weekend that I should manually jog it to the extremes and get the settings for my machine
See if calibrating for belt stretch helps: http://docs.carbide3d.com/shapeoko-faq/how-to-calibrate-the-machine-for-belt-stretch/
(the formula there may be wrong — please check first and reverse if need be)
Had the issue before and after calibration. That’s what made me decide to look elsewhere. Couldn’t take hearing the carriage hit the rail anymore.
1 other question $25=1500 did not speed up the homing process. Is there an update or another option?
Just powered up my XL and have the same issue… every thing appears to be normal… homing worked as advertised. But when using RPS machine crashes into left side of frame. X value something like -830ish? (Will confirm…)
Started Wondering if this was normal???
Found this post… can anyone offer advice?
