XXL Homing problem

Problem with initializing machine. It seems that the limit switches do not work any more. I have to disconnect after it hits the limit switches because it will not stop. Just chatters.

Not able to send attachment,
ERROR 28 HOMING CYCLE FAILED

ERROR 29 GRBL ERROR HOMING FAILED PULL OFF DID NOT CLEAR
ERROR 27 LIMIT SWITCH ERROR (X)

Hope that is enough info.

Thanks, Cam

If that doesn’t address things let us know what you’ve tried at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to help.

If the switches were working either one has gone bad, or the machine mechanically can’t close one for some reason — let us know, we’ll get you homing again.

Looks like the Y switch is the problem.
With the cover removed, I see that the light is always on.

Do you think it should be replaced?

Yes. Contact us at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll take care of that as quickly as we can.

Installed new Y switch but the problem remains. It seems that the whole thing works in reverse. The Z wants to go down instead of up. The z switch is damaged, flattened out. carbide motion shows that X and Z switches are active.

Then you need replacement X and Z switches (if there isn’t some underlying electronics problem). Let us know at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll do our best to sort this out with you.
