Z-Axis assistance request

I use Bit Zero. V2 and bit setter on my SPro 5, and continue receiving message that my (Z-) is 23.1 too low. Have even tried adjusting 65mm spindle accordingly to no avail. When starting the project, the spindle hovers about 7 inches over the project board. Any thoughts for this new user. Thanks in advance.

This is a warning as noted at:

Usually it is caused by a mismatch between job setup:

and how origin is set relative to the stock:

I find that opening the .c2d file up and drawing a box which matches the specified dimensions (draw up the cut in profile if need be) or moving the machine to the origin and then using a tape measure to measure out the dimension(s) in question will make clear where things aren’t lining up.

For the Z-axis, there is the variable of how high/low the spindle is mounted and how long the tool is — my preference for that is to chuck up the shortest tool which I plan to use, then jog the machine to above the Hybrid T-tracks, then lower it as low as it will go, then adjust the spindle up/down in the mount until the tip of the tool will just barely touch the surface of the metal.

Further, note that there are two different sets of holes for the mount — it is preferable to use the higher set for a spindle which has a longer body.

Post a picture of your setup and of the machine at the zero position and upload the file in question?

Thanks Will,
This all worked fine :- )
