Z axis inaccurate after a hold-down failure

Yesterday one of the hold downs on a board came loose and the board got ripped around the machine for a few seconds before I could shut it off.

Since then, the z-axis is not working correctly. I did reboot the machine. A couple of times the new cut started way above the piece which I has previously zeroed the z-axis to, and then a couple of times the depth passes were each way shallower than they should have been and the finished cut was only about half the depth it was set to be.

Any ideas what I have messed up on the machine and what might be needed to fix it?

Thank you!

Z-Plus?

Try lubricating the linear rails per:

https://carbide3d.com/hub/docs/maintenance/

and with the power off, manually lower it all the way to the bottom (by turning the leadscrew) and then back up to the top, then to the middle.

Yes, Z-Plus. I will try that now. Thank you!
