Z axis spring broke

I understand that right now is a bad time. Been calling and emailed but no answer so far. Im in a rush to try to get a project completed. One of my Z-axis carriage springs broke and I can not find a replacement to order via CC website. I have used my calipers and took measurements and this seems to be a good fit

Its only $8 but company has a $40 minimum and wants $15 to ship it. Does anyone know of an alternative or if a way to get one from CC.

Also anyone know status of Z- Plus? I would love to upgrade and do away with this carriage all together.

Replace with a HDZ and have a couple of springs from the ‘old’ Z. Let me know how to get them to you.

where you located? List it on EBAY? or I could email you a shipping label??

Santa Clara, CA, don’t know how to communicate privately tho and don’t want to include that info on the public forum. Is there a Private Messaging avenue on this forum? thanks

sent to a message… i believe it should go to just you

You can run with one spring, at least temporarily.

Your ticket was grabbed and is in the queue of a support person to be answered.

It’s a

2.25in to 6.25in Extension Spring

per https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/B.O.M.

which you should be able to pick up from any hardware store.

Will…thanks for that info… any concern about load limits on it? I went to Lowes (only place that carries springs) and found one the looked right but way to heavy and would not let carriage extend…anyway I will continue to look around… any word on the Z-Plus and when maybe available?

We are still waiting on a bracket from a supplier to make the Z-Plus available.

I also run with only one spring by choice. I believe its only there to prevent the axis from falling down when powered off. When the machine is on, the motor does all the work.
