For future purchasers it would be nice to have some auxiliary holes along these edges for mounting things like dust boots

The HDZ has holes such as you describe — not sure if it’s feasible to add any features to the Z-Plus and maintain its price point.
@Luke or @edwardrford would have to speak to that though.
