Z skipping steps while retracting

I keep having this issue with all 3 of my Nomad 3’s, while engraving or cutting multiple parts, the machine retracks to move to the next part but skips steps while doing so, not fully retracting and causing it to plunge a couple mm’s deeper into the material, completely ruining the part. I can longer leave the machines alone while doing jobs that take multiple hours and have to watch them the whole time… What can be causing this? 2 of the Nomads are only a few months old.

Have you lubricated the Z-axis?

(for XY see: What do I use to Lubricate the Rails? - Carbide 3D )

If that doesn’t help, let us know at support@carbide3d.com
