Zeroing this is giving me severe anxiety!

I guess aim small miss small?? If I’m off, none of the stripes will line up correctly. I usually center zero with the lines from the outside edges, but double checking my work, it was off by a 32th.

Did a quick test cut for the tolerances and the puzzle fits good. Time for the flag.

lol yep, I do that from time to time. Back in a former life as a welder, I was working with this old timer fitting up a large platform. Measuring for square, I was taking too long reading the measurement and he yelled at me saying “What the heck are you doing??” Which I replied “It’s short by a 1/16th!”

The old timer yelled back “ Does your girlfriend complain that you’re a 1/16th to short!?!”

I looked at him and said it’s square…

On another note, here is a side by side comparison of a spiral down cut and an up cut bit profile.

Same file, same parameters.

The down cut does a great job with the edge profile.

It’s definitely repeatable.

The V carve came out quite nicely with the wavy profile

Some of the stars landed partially (some half/half) between the joints of the puzzle. Should be a really cool effect once I paint the stars.

What? You mean you won’t be inserting wavy, randomly-split inlays ? I am so disappointed :upside_down_face:

Ha! Just slightly thinking about that throws me into an infinite loop caused by my workflow OCD. Having a Sheldon moment right now.
