I’m having a tough time adding this tool and it’s information to my database… is it possible to enter into carbide create? i’m using software build 652
I own this same endmill. Carbide Create does not understand the concept of tapered endmills. You can enter it as a 0.5mm ball nosed endmill and it will work for operations where there is proper side clearance in your design.
I concur, I have been using exactly that method when using my tapered endmill (same as yours @StephenN) for 3D finishing passes and it worked wonderfully, here’s my favorite piece:

I actually prefer tapered endmills for really small detailed work like that. They break less.
Can I ask what are your rpm and feed rates? I’m cutting soft plastic with mine.
