Advanced Vcarve for flag

Good morning, I’ve been asked by someone at work to make this flag, the issue that I’m having is the advanced vcarve for their logo. I want it carve out so the black stays black but I get the opposite. What am I doing wrong or missing? Thanks

This is the “figure-ground-reversal” problem.
