I just ordered my first CNC, I should have just bought Carbide 3D End Mills. But I ordered an Amana End Mill set. 3 out of the 8 mills are in the library, but the other 5 are not. I have (#56125, #RC-45711,#45705, #46120-K, and #46282-K). I need helping adding the info to the library. If there is another forum you know of that has already answered this question could you point me in that direction. Thanks!
You should be able to find all of those tools specs at the Amana Tools Website
search the tool number in the search box and you will get a result such as this.
Inside carbide create it asks for plunge rate and feed rate and RPM. What do I put in those boxes?
For the #56125 see:
The #RC-45711 is “just” a 90 degree V tool, but a bit wider in diameter, so depending on how it is balanced and how true your spindle spins the feeds and speeds may need to be adjusted a bit.
#45705 is pretty much the same as a #302
I don’t see a #46120-K:
The #46282-K is a tapered ball-nose, which geometry is not supported in current versions of Carbide Create — it could be entered as a ball-nose tool using the rounded tip diameter and could be pushed a bit harder and faster than a typical ball-nose tool, but it should only be used for projects where the tapered portion will not cut away more vertical features.
I think there is a pdf on that same site which may address feeds and speeds. Ignore it and run conservatively. It is designed for very stiff industrial equipment. This is your first CNC…you are going to have years of fun learning to make it go faster.
@cheu @WillAdams thank you both for taking your time to help me! I appreciate it!
