Good evening. So I went to purchase a sheet of 1 1/2" at my (not so) local sign supply shop (1 1/2 hrs away). When I told them what I wanted…they were out!
“BUT!” he said, “I think we have a full sheet of poorly cut 1 1/2” in our ‘grave yard’." He dug it out, and it was indeed what I needed. It has saw marks along the whole surface which he said if I use a surfacing bit it will take it right off. And since he gave me an additional 20% off of my already wholesale discounted price, I decided I might as well get a decent Surfacing bit. This long winded preface leads too the question of the day…
What general purpose surfacing bit would you recommend?
I’ll be primarily using it for HDU (which is about the easiest product to work with, but will also be using it on hardwoods as well).
Also, I need to cut an arch on some of the signs I’m carving.
What bit would you recommend to cut all the way through 1 1/2" material?
