I have been using 4XXL for several years with windows 7 and the bitzero. Recently I needed to update CC free version to CCpro for advanced Vcarve and other features.
I realized my windows 7 laptop wouldn’t work so replaced with windows 10 laptop. After installing. CC pro and CM 6.31? Everything seem to configure fine. Instrument home as expected and moves as expected. Problem comes when using the bit zero. I set the XYZ zeros and proceed to cut an inside cut with bit 1/4”. I set depth to 1/4” with .1 cut. I go to make the cut and the bit plunges like 1/2” into the wood. After a quick “oh shit” moment I quickly powered off machine and then reset everything. What I learned was when using the bit zero it puts X and Y to Zero but Z is set to 12mm offset every time!! If I set the Z height to Top of material as zero everything works as normal.
I plugged in my windows 7 laptop to double check and when using but zero is zeros out XYZ.
Did I miss something on the setup to configure the bit zero on windows 10 laptop? I watched the video and followed the setup procedure.
Something else that is strange. Video mentioned some subtle differences between older versions of CM and newer version CM 6.31. I don’t see any difference and I checked the version is different on both laptops. I’m scratching my head. Any thoughts?
