Carbide 6 file dos not open in carbide 8

I just got a nice project, created on an older version of CC, what did not open in CC8. The designer tole me, was done with an older version, I downloaded CC6, and it could be opened with CC6 nicely. But again when I saved it on my laptop it did not open in CC8.

Is there any way to open that with CC8?

Open & save it in V7, then it should open in V8. However, any 3D components will not open.
You can export the 3D as a heightmap image & import into V8.

As noted at:

https://carbide3d.com/blog/create-v8/

Create V6 files do not load into V8

Moreover, for 3D files:

Files from prior versions will not load 3D components in V8. There were too many changes to the internal format for the new capabilities of 3D, and there was no good way to map existing 3D components into V8.

Tod, TY! Worked nicely. Fortunately the project does not contain 3D parts, so will work out nicely I think. Will report when done

William, the trick to us CC 7 worked nicely, fortunately the project did not contain 3d objects, so all went very well.

TY!
