Carbide Create 8 cannot read Carbide Create 7 files

Is there a workaround for Carbide Create 8 not reading Carbide Create 7 files. This makes Cut-Rocket useless. If not, how do I go back to Carbide Create 7.

CC v8 cannot read v6 and below files and a lot of CutRocket files are older. The advise is to open the V6 and below in v7 and save and v8 is supposed to open the file. I dont do 3d but I have read that v7 and below 3d files do not operate correctly in v8 and you have to recreate 3d files in v8. However regular 2d files from v7 should open in v8.

Open an older file in v7, resave as a .v7 file.
