Try making a new user account and installing and running under that account?
What do you mean that the wizard is running slow? Which wizard?
The setup wizrd for motion
I even tried a second computer
In what way is it slow if you can’t get beyond the first step to connect the machine?
When it prompts you choose what machine you have to see how to power it on, constantly getting (not responding) at the top of the program. I downloaded 622 and once again it lets me continue through the serop wizard completely.
You might try opening the data directory and removing everything from there and then running the beta build again. (You can keep the files if you want to restore the current CM state later)
I used Revo uninstaller to remove all files for motion and installed the beta fresh with the problem. Used the Revo uninstaller to clear everything again and installed 622, installed and connected fine. I made a screen recording of the setup wizard but the forum won’t let me upload it here.
Might just have to wait for this to not be beta, still will not connect.

We’re having a hard time leaving good enough alone, but it should be coming to an end soon.
Please try 634 from Carbide Motion Beta Downloads
- New - Error BS001, BS006 now leave the machine initialized.
- New - All probing should leave the machine initialized if the probing fails.
- New - All probing commands confirm the input state before beginning the probing cycle.
- New - Only initialize the controller once. (There was extra work being done in the jog command)
- New - M214 was added for the VFD spindle warmup. We also added a built-in Quick Action for it.
Patiently waiting for “Run From Here”.
Ok we fixed the BitZero V1 probing, so 635 should be the final before we can call this “done” and move on to more exciting things.

(We’ll try to get a Pi build tomorrow)
Loving these changes…particularly the removal of the extra menus. Thanks.
New Pi build at Carbide Motion for the Raspberry Pi
Is there any updated/expanded list of CM6 key shortcuts (maybe some custom/Quick action options)? I’ve only been able to find the old CM5 ones.
This is a big one for me, hate it.
I might have to download the new beta and check it out since sounds like this has been resolved finally.
I don’t believe there have been any CM keyboard shortcut changes for CM6.
I found an issue I was able to repeat. I have a 3XXL with HDZ, Bit zero, Bit setter and an aftermarket 2.2kw spindle. When I power on the machine, it goes through initialization, moves to back right then to bit change position. At that point when I select the Quick Actions menu. Select “Move cutter above current XY zero,” it moves to XY zero as it should. I then select “Plunge to 1 inch above current Z zero” the Z will drive UP and chatter at the mechanical stop.
After it stops trying to move up, without re-initializing, I can select load new tool and it moves to bit change position then to bit setter. If I then select move to XY zero and select Plunge to Z zero it moves the bit the one inch of Z, (as it should).
Bear in mind that I have waited until Friday to load the beta and finally decided to give it a test run. It’s entirely possible I shouldn’t select the quick menu without sending the machine to Bit setter first.
