I downloaded CM 656 this morning and it randomly disconnects from the cutter both prior to starting the cut and in the middle of a cut. I have a Shapeoko 5.0 with the 80 mm VFD. I have not had this issue in the past so not sure if it is the new software issue or something else. I have tried rebooting my computer (Fusion 5 tablet) but that did not fix the issue. It has happened three times on the same file. The first time I was about 80% through the project and the other two it was just cutting air as I restarted from the beginning, and it disconnected about 1/2 way through. Based on some older threads I am also wondering if it is a static issue. I am using an older shopsmith vac but I do not have an antistatic hose on it. Thank you in advance for any suggestions or recommendations.
I am guessing now that the static from the vac is the issue. I ran the project without the vac hose attached and it completed the cut without issues. Still open to other suggestions if there is something in my description that leads you to believe that static from the vac is not the likely culprit.
Thanks Will, I picked up an anti-static hose and will see if that solves my issue. I live in Vegas so it sounds like that may add to the equation.
