I saw a design in cut rocket. It is the Puzzle Coaster
https://cutrocket.com/p/5cc88e9dc17ee
the problem is that there is only a PNG and it is not flat. I can not import it in CC.
Anybody got it right?

I’m not sure how that got approved, but it’s not an image that can be used for cutting. It’s a render of the finished part.
For a discussion of making such pieces see
I have unapproved that project.
If you need help working from the link above to make a file for this, let us know and we’ll work through this with you.
In fact, all I need is the SVG for the form, everything else is very standard like a Tray.
@Mseguin I’ll make no guarantees to if this will work, but this is a symmetrical puzzle piece that should fit inside itself if you try to connect more than one. I added a circle to replicate the indent for the coaster part but you should be able to add the inset for the lip and clean things up pretty easily in CC or the program of your choice.
You’ll probably have to play a little bit with the sizing of either the nub or the cut in part so that they mill in such a way that they interlock, but i might be wrong. I actually think i might give this a try tomorrow because my mom is getting big into puzzles so this would be a fun christmas present.
Ok, I gave it a shot and this is what I came up with. It’s assuming a 3/4" starting thickness and only using bits that came along with my Shapeoko, so you might need/want to use different bits and definitely change the feeds and speeds since they’re mostly set to defaults.
First it thins down to 1/2", then does a 1/8" inset for inside the piece and then 1/8" deeper to get the circular inset. Both are contoured around with a 1/4" ball mill to give a nice rounded inside.
I’m sure it can be improved but it’s at least a decent starting place.

Thank you. I will try it.
