I set up a project to cut out a cross. The first two times it seemed to work. The last time I changed thew thicknwess of the project. I told the cutout to only go halfway thru the material. But it cut almost all the way thru the material. What I really wanted was a contour path. I was able to delete the cutout and make it a contour. But can you edit a cutout and make it a contour. I don’t know what the first two times it only cut thru halfway.
No, the type of toolpath cannot be changed by editing it, disable/delete and make the new toolpath.
Cutout is explicitly designed to cut halfway through and to not have it cut through requires a negative value.
I set the cut out to be start 0 breakthru .1875 material .3750. But it cut all the way thru.
A positive value results in cutting past the bottom by that added value as will be shown in the 3D preview of the toolpath.
I’m still confused. the first two times I ran the project the cutout only went halfway thru the material . Then the third time it cut almost all of the way thru. Let me see if I understand this. With a .3750 thick material. If I set the cutout to start .0000 and breakthrough .1875. It should start cutting at .000 and cut .1875 past the .3750 material?

How accurately did you measure the Stock Thickness?

I haven’t had a reason to go past the material thickness so I don’t use the start and breakthrough values. If you leave them at 0 the cutout will go to the thickness of the material
I don’t have pictures of the parts. Everything cut correctly except cutout 2. Instead of going halfway it went all the way thru the material but it didn’t cut into the wasteboard at all.
I made changes to the cutouts and finally got a good cut. I would post a picture but for soe reason my laptop won’t see the picture that I just took.

I hate to beat a dead horse. But why would someone want to cut past the bottom of the material? Wouldn’t that cut into the waste board.
If one has a sacrificial layer beneath and wants to ensure the part is cut out completely.
