Deeper grooves on Y rod

I will contact Carbide 3d support.

What will be the consequence of this wear on the linear rod?

I assume and fear that I have not done enough maintenance, but what is there to do other than clean? Should the bearings not be sealed and pre packed with grease? Maybe something has gotten onto it…

If you cut metal clean your rods and bearings after project. The official maint guide suggestions Mobil Vactra #2 oil. You can get a quart on ebay.

For the Nomad round rods the recommendation is Super Lube Synthetic Oil with PTFE:

Mobil Vactra #2 is only recommended for the linear rails on the Pro and Nomad 3 as noted in:

Sorry I missed it was a Nomad.

I cant ask for much more… Thanks.
I just recently managed to get a hold of both the grease and the oil here in Norway. The shipping from amazon was around $300 for the one linked in the guide.

Could this get worse and reduce quality of cut? I might find out over time…

It looks to be cosmetic — if you were under warranty when this developed, write in to support@carbide3d.com so that we can all be on the same page about the situation in case it gets worse.
