I think you may have a dud then. Mine is quiet and everyone else on here says the same.

So… I returned that “stealthsonic” which sounded like an f-16, and bought another one. Same model number. Quiet, peaceful, blissfull quiet. Thanks for your help!

I told them it’s a bad one but I don’t think that I am very influential. 
I didn’t see it mentioned… Quick fix: stack 2 buckets together!

I have heard that before and didn’t really know whether that was fixing or hiding the problem.
But, I switched to a different bucket and have not had the issues.
I used the two bucket setup, it helped for a while but I still had problems with the inner collapsing. This inside support along with the double bucket helped a bunch.
