Diamond drag bit engraving questions

Need help on filling the whole area with a pocket fill and not leaving a gap around the edge or not being able to fill for the space is to narrow. Diamond dragbit engraving

Use a Texture toolpath?

Or, offset to the outside by the radius of the tool?

Or, use the Engraving toolpath from Carbide Create Pro?

I want the effect of the pocket tool path. But I want it to got to the edge. It thinks it’s a wider tool and I don’t know how to set it different

Set the diameter of your tool to 2x stepover for the pocket path. Do a contour no offset for the outline.

I am trying to do the same thing, and it seems like there is just not enough specific information for setting up these drag bits.

As for the original question. Try copy-pasting the design, using a contour path on one, and a pocket path on the other. The contour path should give you the well-defined edge you are looking fore. Make sure to cut the contour path first.

You’ll need to create a new/custom tool database in Create. Tell it you have a new flat endmill to add to it, input in a really tiny diameter for it - Like 0.005". Now use it in a pocketing toolpath.
