Finally got a 3D printer

So I finally got a 3D printer. I’ve spent the last couple days printing most of the shapeoko accessories that Carbide 3D had on their site. Everything seems to work wonderfully. The only issues I had were the vee bit box caddy. The holes were just about a mm too small in each direction. And the power pendant mount was also just a touch too small, but it just managed to sqeeze in there. I’m printing everything with PETG.

Anyway, just thought I’d check in with everyone to see if anyone has any print suggestions. I’ve been running this thing basically continuously. Lol

With a significant number of makers out there owning a Shapeoko, Nomad and a 3D printer, we wanted to set up a place where users could get spare parts if in a bind as well as to be able to share concepts we’ve been playing with which would be suited to 3D printing. Simple enough to do in OpenSCAD: https://www.blockscad3d.com/community/projects/1424448 [image] It’d be pretty straight-forward to take the model and cut it w/ a dovetail tool which matches what is entered into the parameters.

since I have been unable to get past the tutorials of traditional 3D CAD programs and the requirement of Alibre to have a mouse connected means that I am rarely able to find time to try it.

There are also a huge number of free files on Makerworld. This is a Bambu Lab site. I have a Bambu printer so I don’t know if it is exclusive to Bambu owners or not, but it is worth checking out.

Not exclusive. Makerworld files can be printed on any 3D printer.

That elusive 3d printer is way high on my list. What did you end up purchasing?

I ended up with an Anycubic Kobra S1 combo. It is on Amazon for like $400 with the filament management system. Really good value. For a budget printer, I don’t have a bad word to say about it. It needed minimal setup, and it just prints flawlessly. It is unbelievably easy to use.
