Forum Rules

We put this forum up to give our users a place to gather, trade ideas, show off, and help each other out.

First and foremost, this is not the primary support channel for our users. If you need help, shoot us an email at support@carbide3d.com and we’ll get your problem taken care of.

We’ve seen a lot of online forums become toxic, unfriendly places to be, and that is something we are actively working to avoid.

Here are the rules:

  1. Don’t be a jackass.
  2. Don’t be a jackass.
  3. No Rants, avoid gratuitous negativity.
  4. Real names are required.
  5. Be civil. Don’t say things you wouldn’t say in a face-to-face conversation.
  6. Factually incorrect or misleading posts will be deleted.
  7. No commercial activity.

We’ve got our fingers hovering over the delete button for those who ignore the rules.

How to Post:

We want the content in the forum to be useful to the poster as well as others that follow in the future. This requires a few things from the poster:

  1. Use a category for your post
  2. Use a good, descriptive title. (“Something is wrong” is a bad title)
  3. Post details. Include the type of machine or version of software that you’re using. If it’s a question about software, post your file if you can.

If a post ends up having little future value, maybe because the poser was confused about something in a way that we don’t commonly see, we may delete the post after it’s been resolved to reduce the “noise” for people searching in the future.

A few notes about support threads:

Posts that are clearly a support issue might be taken private or moved into our help ticket system so that we can deal with the problem more efficiently and keep the history in the customer’s support account.

Posts in a support thread the include incorrect information (which is very common, even with good intentions) will be deleted so that misinformation isn’t propagated any further.
