HDM V3 CAD Model

I noticed there were some significant differences between the HDM V3 and the CAD models for older versions of the HDM here, so I made a model for the V3. It’s not fully detailed, but the important dimensions should be reasonably accurate. Hopefully someone out there finds this useful for designing tables, enclosures, or other accessories for it.

Link to CAD in Onshape:

And here’s a link to a step export:

The V3 is ~86mm deeper overall than the older version. Wish I’d realized that before buying a 36" deep table to set it on…

Enjoy!

Dude amazeballs !
Thank you for sharing this, I have been going crazy the past few days trying to find out these dimensions - for the sole purpose to see if the machine will fit and what table I need.

BTW, what table did you order?

I got the dimension I needed and I will fit on my bench, my bench is 28" deep.
Why won’t your 36" table work?

Remember the front is supposed to be open so you can clamp on vertical stock.

It sits on a 36" deep table just fine, it’s just a bit awkward to build an enclosure around it on a 36" table since it hangs off. The front of the spindle mount also projects ~45mm in front of the base when the Y axis is moved all the way forward, so the enclosure has to clear that.

I got one of these Global Industrial tables:.

Would not recommend. I got it because it looked very similar to the Uline packing tables and was ~$200 cheaper on sale + free shiping, but the Uline tables are way sturdier.
