Help Converting a file

I am having issues converting a JPEG into a vector file. I’m using Inkscape and the path_trace bitmap wont give me a good enough vector to use in carbide create. Any hints or tips?

We just posted CC 520 to: https://carbide3d.com/carbidecreate/download/ 520 includes a big new feature for us, Image Tracing. [image] You should be able to load a JPG or PNG and get a reasonable set of curves from it very quickly. A few caveats: Right now, it’s mono only so color images will be converted to black and white using the thresholds in the window. We’re not optimizing for very small images so some will work well, others won’t. We’d recommend images larger than 500px on a side …

Did you try the multiple scan section at the bottom? I’m not home so cant recall exact screen options.

Sometimes edge detection doesn’t work for me so I use the multi scan using 10 or 12 scan and I believe the bottom option. After its scanned right click and select ungroup, which will give you 10 or 12 separate images. I just click and drag 1 so I can see it separately and delete all but 1 which looks the best then save that as .svg.
