You can create a new tool. If you have an existing database made by someone else you need to verify it is in the correct format. The file must be a .csv file. You can read a .csv file in any spreadsheet application. If you open the .csv file in a spreadsheet when closing be sure to save in .csv format and not in the spreadsheet format. CC only reads .csv format. The files are stored:

Open CC. In the menu select help. A text box opens and there is a link that says “Open Data Directory”

Then under the CC directory navigate to the tools directory. Locate your file name and open in a spreadsheet.

When opening in a spreadsheet there are a lot of fields that CC does not use. If you create your own custom tool In CC and you can see which fields it populates and compare that to the 3rd party spreadsheet for format and content. The unused fields are just not used or read by CC but is likely there for future use.

Hi will
I Was told by Eugene that you cannot put in a tool data base unless it’s one bit at a time Eugene is oner of their working techs and he said you cannot drop a whole data base in at once.

If you are using the graphical interface, then tools must be added one at a time — that is what is officially supported.

Adding an entire tool library by copying in a .csv is not officially supported, but does work:

For advanced users it is an option to manually edit the underlying .csv file. Go to Help | About | Open Data Directory, then open the Carbide Create directory and find a Carbide Create\tools directory — custom tools are stored in that in .csv files and may be backed up or saved or transferred to another computer, or edited using a text editor or spreadsheet (if one saves as CSV format). See
