How to add new bits, particular 8mm, to the Shapoko?

Hi fellow humans,

I got a couple of 8mm bits, thinking I’d like to speed up background removal and get a stiffer bit. I tried to add it a couple ways. First I duplicated a library, but when I tried to steal data from the quarter inch bit by editing that, it also replaced things in the orginial file. So i ended up reinstalling that.

I kept getting much longer cutting times, so I am missing something…

I know this was discussed a couple places - the how to add a new bit type. I got a shipload of router bits I’d like to add too. I’m guessing when you cut a contour, the no offset option centers the tool centerpoint on the line, so it cuts both sides away. Meaning for an 1/2 bit cutting the work free, the part would be 1/2" smaller (as both sides lost .125 inch)? Yes?

Then to shape an edge, I’d need a .125 inch off for a bit 1/2" wide? Or do I?

Confused…
