Hoping to find some help, I am new to CNC tried to download a file from cut rocket into my carbide create. First downloaded into my MacBook, then try to open it with carbide create, and nothing showed up. Hopefully it’s just something simple that I am not doing. Looking forward to using lots of wonderful files that I’ve been uploaded by users. And hoping to add a lot of my own files once I get rolling. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can throw at me. I searched all over the Internet for a video showing how to do it with MacBook, but came up empty-handed.
CutRocket has been around for a while. Starting with v8 of CC you can only open v8 and v7 CC files. If you have a pre v7 file you have to open it in v7 and save it in v7 and then open in v8. So likely the files from CutRocket are from earlier than v7 and that is why nothing shows up. V8 of cc had a lot of changes made and C3D made a decision to make it compatible with v7 and not earlier versions. But use the work around above to get the file up to v7 and then v8 will open it
All previous versions with 3d will have issues. As stated above major changes were made in v8 and when opening a cd file you have to go back and set up from scratch on your 3d parameters. Any 2d file should work fine as long as you open it in v7, save it and then v8 will work fine.
