Just arrived yesterday!

We actually had a query about exactly that on support the other day.

It would be interesting to know what the most space-efficient tool chests/carts which would fit underneath a 4x4 or 4x2 5.1 w/ legs setup.

I was going to start that research and if noting acceptable was found then make a custom cabinet.

The big question is whether I use my Pro XXL to make the cabinet or the eagerly anticipated but not yet ordered 5.1 when I get it :joy:

I looked for a rolling tool chest that would fit and there are VERY few. Most of the stuff was flimsy garbage.

I was planning to put a shelf under the legs using the holes that are set there for that purpose. I can’t see pulling out a rolling cart every time I want to use the machine…and having it take foot space from the table.

I picked up a relatively inexpensive ($37) articulated keyboard holder…Picking up on Will’s idea, I’ll mount a nice-looking hardwood panel over it for my keyboard and mouse and then attach the articulated tablet holder that I used for my old setup onto a tongue on that board. I think that should give me what I’m looking for, assuming I can find a good place to attach it to the leg set.

Maybe a smaller toolbox that you build a rolling stand for if not building the whole thing.

Just purchased mine and there were 7 boxes. One box was delivered the following day from the rest.

Another question (Yet another): Does anyone know how to hook up a JTech laser to the 5.1 Pro? The old setup we had to connect into the board. Is there one built into the controller here too? PS - I have the question out to Jay as well… I’ll let you all know what he says.

those new connectors look so much better than the ones I fight with all the time on the pro.

still have to jiggle the molex connectors every once in a while to make an endstop function properly.

Got word back from JTech. It’s the same connector as for the older Shapeokos. You need to open up the control box and fish a connector in to the ICSP on the board:

Pretty straight forward.
