Just general help with VCarve

I am trying to use the vcarve software free trail of pro.

I have a .crv file but I can’t get it to export or run on the pro 5.

What are the steps to get it to run on machine?

I can upload the .crv file just need help of how to make it run on the 4x4 pro machine.

Also I don’t know crave at all as this is a trail software so I have no idea what the tools/bits they are requiring

Vectric Cut2D/Vcarve/Aspire is a set of commercial programs which use a proprietary format.

You’ll need the appropriate application to open the file and generate toolpaths.

just trying to see if I should pay 700.00 for software to rung this file better than the V8 of Carbide pro

No idea on that.

I bought Vectric a while back, but found it cluttered and confusing, so gave up on it.

We discuss making this sort of thing in Carbide Create at:

Vectric provides free projects that you can actually cut on your CNC. Other files are restricted. Here is a link to those test projects. Free Trial Compatible Projects〡Vectric
I am unsure if that file is included in the test group. Probably not, so you cannot cut it by design.
Vcarve desktop will cut up to 24x24, and it is priced at $349. The Pro is $700 I think. Once you own it, you own it. No monthly fees, and paid upgrades are optional.

I’ve been using Vectric software since the first day VCarve was released and that was a long time ago. If I remember correctly, the trial version does not permit exporting a toolpath for cutting but it might. It was or is provided to allow potential users to begin to become familiar with software before a purchase,

I’m new to the Shapoko but my initial tests with toolpaths from both VCarve Pro and Aspire have cut flawlessly. I’ve used both the standard Shapoko and Carbide Motion postprocessors’ that come installed with the software. I’ve run single toolpaths, multiple tooplaths (utilizing a single tool) posted as a single file to run and “merged toolpaths” all of which run exactly as I intended them to.
